MakeTruck: Make Module

The Make Module is an all purpose lab for assembling an assortment of projects. The included tool set is chosen to cover the most likely needed basic hand tools. Makers will be able to put together a variety of kits, including those from the Make Store, and others. Simple Electronics, Mechanics, Physics, and related subjects projects are possible with this set.

Tools:

• soldering station box: iron, solder, pads, holder, good pump sucker, flux
• hand tools: standard, phillips, drivers, allen, torx, cutters, pliers, strippers, crunchers
• multimeters, fused power supply, jumper clips, breadboards, wire spool rack
• cordless drill, drill bits, PVC glue, hand saw, hacksaw, sandpaper, files
• model rocket launch pad and controls

Materials:

• wire, insulating tape, wire nuts, battery connectors, assorted resistors and basic components.
• assorted wheels, pulleys, shafts, bearings (Lego?), belts, gears, chains (bike parts?)
• magnets, string, weights, bicycle wheels, elastic, air pump, stopwatch, rulers/tapes, scale.
• Assorted construction materials, PVC, wood, plastics, screws, clamps, bailing wire, duct tape.

Projects:

• LED flashlight with switch and resistor teaches basic circuit diagrams
• Basic soldering and wiring skills, construction techniques, safety
• Crystal Radio, VanDeGraf generator, Leyden jars, natural batteries,
• bike wheel gyro, pendulums, momentum, leaf blower hovercraft, menthos rockets, stopwatch.
• Make Kits, model rocket kits.
